History

The B-25C-NA SN 41-12830 was delivered on May 28, 1942. She was flown to the Kansas City modification center for unknown modifications. After modifications, she was flown to Hamilton field to await overseas allocation. She was assigned to the 38th Bomb Group, 71st Bomb Squadron, leaving the United States in July of 1942. On January 8, 1943, she was damaged in a routine mission from Port Moresby. Her left engine hit by flack, she was forced to ditch just off the coast near Wanigela. The wreck remains there today, 1 of 2 New Guinea B-25 dive sites. The following summary of assignments are listed on her record card:
