B-25 History Project Museum
B-25 History Project Museum
The Museum: One of our most pressing projects is the collection and preservation of artifacts related to the history of the B-25, with a focus on the history of the Fairfax plant in Kansas City. If not gathered and preserved soon, what little remains will be lost forever. Currently in the acquisition and fund raising phase, the B-25 History Project Museum has already collected over 2000 physical artifacts related to the B-25 and the men and women who built, flew and maintain them. We continue to collect artifacts on a daily basis as our collection continues to grow. These artifacts are being meticulously documented, digitized, and preserved so the story they tell can continue. Although the overwhelming majority of these artifacts have been donated by people connected to the B-25 or their family, preserving these artifacts is our biggest expense to date. If you would like to help us preserve these artifacts and build our museum, please consider a tax deductible donation. If you have an artifact you would like us to preserve please contact us. We understand that preservation is pointless if we do not share that history. Ultimately, our goal is to open an education center and museum in the Fairfax district that will allow us to display our vast archive while educating and inspiring the public. Currently, our museum project includes bringing a B-25 back to Kansas City. Although ambitious, we are confident we are building the right team to make this happen.
Education: The B-25 History Project is committed to education as well. We are currently working with museums to develop educational B-25 displays. We also have a program designed for school children of any age. Any opportunity we can find to educate the general public on the history of the B-25 will not be over-looked. Our historians have also developed 30, 45, and 60 minute presentation programs on different topics related to the history of the B-25. Upon request, we can also tailor a presentation to your event.
In the future, we will utilize the resources of our museum to further foster education of younger generations. This will include programs geared toward students, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other youth organizations. Our goal is to both educate and inspire our youth to learn and honor the greatest generation. We are also looking for ways to include youth in our restoration and historical preservation efforts as well.
