History

The B-25D-35-NC SN 43-3869 was completed on March 9, 1944. As the last B-25D that would be built, the plant celebrated with a War Bond drive. Dollar bills were donated by the employees and taped to the fuselage. Research is ongoing to determine more information on this event. She went to the Fairfax modification center to be configured for transfer to the Netherland East Indies Air Force. Departing from the modification center on March 29, she flew first to Albuquerque, New Mexico and then to Sacramento, California. By April 15, 1944, she was transferred overseas. She was assigned Dutch serial N5-215. Before she was ever used by the Dutch, she was transferred to the Australian Air Force and given the serial A47-25. Royal Army Air Force Squadron number 2 flew her as KOJ. She flew 58 missions during the war and was salvaged in 1950.
