History
The B-25D-15-NC SN 41-30816 was delivered on July 1, 1943. She was modified at the Kansas City modification center prior to leaving the United States from Hunter Field on July 6, 1943. The following summary of assignments are listed on her record card:

She was assigned to the Netherlands East Indian Airforce Number 18 Squadron as N5-161 on November 24, 1943. The Number 18 Squadron was comprised mostly of Dutch personnel who escaped from the Netherlands East Indies when the Japanese invaded. Most of their missions were against the Japanese in southern Netherlands East Indies in what is now Indonesia. She made her first operational flight on October 14, 1943 followed by several additional missions and patrols over the next two months. On the night of December 8, 1943 N5-161 and five other B-25s flew to Drysdale Strip near Kalumburu Mission in the northern part of Western Australia for refueling and staging. A night intruder mission was planned against the Koepang/Timor area. While landing at Drysdale the nose gear collapsed causing heavy damage to the nose and forward section of the aircraft. She was written off and salvaged by Number 4 Repair and Salvage Unit. The remaining portions of the airframe remained at the Drysdale River airfield until recovered by Reevers in late 2017. It will be put on display as recovered to honor the men of Number 18 Squadron. The following summary of assignments are listed on her record card:
